About the Boys

Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Ahead of Ourselves brings a new meaning to the coming-of-age story in music. The band formed casually in 2015 during their freshman year of high school to compete in their talent show, but have since then plunged into the world of indie alternative rock. Drawing from their personal experiences throughout their teenage years, Aidan Seeberg (bass), Kyle Domingos (guitar), Griffen Crose (drums), and Max Bacani (lead vocals) have made it a point to be as transparent and candid as possible with their music. As the boys have grown older, their sound has evolved to become more lyrically and sonically sophisticated while still maintaining the same authenticity in their performance. Their discography includes two singles, consisting of three tracks each, as well as a recent double single, “Lilac Boy,” which has reached over 42,000 streams in the first month. The band has been able to perform some of these songs throughout the Chicago area, and have gained recognition on various Spotify algorithmic playlists such as Discover Weekly, Release Radar, On Repeat, and Your Daily Mix. Each song encompasses a feeling or memory that the band hopes to take with them as they continue their creative journey. Not only has their drive and passion for storytelling through music grown, but it has brought a sense of belonging and community within their audience.

Though they have dispersed around the country for college, the boys are still making music together in hopes of memorializing key periods of their lives while also embodying a hopeful look towards the future. For fans of Hippo Campus, Rex Orange County, and Pinegrove, Ahead of Ourselves continues to push the boundaries of their music with every new chapter of their lives they enter.
